The first real frost of the year fell this morning. The central heating was tested and found to be working, it was left to run for just long enough to get the house up to 13 centigrade.
Next week the clocks change, but i will be long gone by then. In fact i will be enjoying the early spring sunshine, sitting on the roof cafe of Central Backpackers, Auckland and plotting where i will be starting my two months stay before moving on to Oz for three months. Well, someone has to do it!

MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground)
The Australians are mad keen on lots of sports, cricket being one of them. Craig, my son-in law, took me, Raphe, my son, who was over from Korea,as well as his dad, also Rob, as well as Des and Shane, his brothers. We were there to watch, what turned out to be a fantastic match between South Africa and Australia. The 'strane' captain, batsman and wicket keeper extraordinaire, Ricky Ponting, who is a little bloke with forearms like Popeye, scored a century and saved the day.
